UIFSM

Is your child in Reception, Year 1 or Year 2?
All children in these year groups are entitled to a Universal Infant Free School Meal (UIFSM). Unless your child has a food allergy you do not need to take any further action if you would like a hot school lunch – meals are automatically provided for children. It is only if you do NOT wish to have a free hot school meal that you need to inform your school. If your child has a food allergy or requires a vegetarian meal please contact The Easy Lunch Company and a medical letter may be requested.

Is your child in Year 3, 4, 5 or 6?
Please register an account and use our simple on line ordering system.

Who is eligible for UIFSM?
All children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2.

What happens if I am currently entitled to Free School Meals?
You are still entitled and still need to fill in the relevant forms so that your school receives the Pupil Premium allowance (failure to do this means your school will miss out on valuable funding).

Do I need to order meals for my infant child in advance?
No, all meals will automatically be provided. They will choose from a standard or limited vegetarian option at the point of service. We try to anticipate which meal will be the most popular and provide the right amount of portions of each meal type however as we cannot sent 100% of each choice sometimes your child’s preferred choice may not be available. As previously said if you require a vegetarian meal each day this must be booked in advance by calling Emma on 01403 741177.

What if my infant child does not want a hot lunch every day?
Your child will still be catered for, your school will have a policy to allow packed lunches from home or not. Contact your school to find out.

Does my child have to have a free hot school meal?
Whilst we would encourage all infant children to have a free hot school meal packed lunches from home can be provided if notice is given to the school and it is their policy to allow this. Contact your school to find out. PLEASE NOTE: if you give the school notice that you will not be taking up a hot lunch option a meal will NOT be supplied for your child and it will be your responsibility to provide a packed lunch.

Can I change my mind and switch to having a free hot school meal if I have already opted out?
Yes you can, by telling your school office by the Wednesday the week before you want to start.

What if my child has an allergy?
You need to call Emma on 01403 741177 to discuss your child’s special meal requirements so they can be catered for individually. You may be asked for a supporting doctor’s letter.

Do I need to order my junior child’s meal in advance? Yes, all meals for junior children (Years 3, 4, 5, and 6) must be ordered in the same way as now either online or by paper order forms within the current deadlines.

What if my infant child has a school trip?
Easy Lunch will provide a packed lunch pre-ordered by the school which will consist of: a sandwich/roll, a carton of fruit juice, a piece of fruit, a yoghurt and a sweet treat.
